We are the Madison Hmong Community Seventh-day Adventist youth group. We are the first Hmong Adventist group in Wisconsin and we have a small number of members.

Paul quotes in 1 Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” It is important to develop a strong foundation with Christ at a young age. As the Hmong youth, we need to spread the good news of Jesus Christ in our own culture as well as the world.

For the past four years the Madison Hmong Community Seventh-day Adventist church have held Camp Meeting in the midwest. This summer, Camp Meeting will not be held in the midwest, but in Blackburg, South Carolina. This is an opportunity to get to know our church family all across the United States, so we can develop a stronger relationship as brothers and sisters through Christ.

To become brothers and sisters through Christ, the Madison Hmong Community Seventh-day Adventist youth need to focus our vision within Christ. It has been a struggle to unify our vision with Jesus, as we are all sinners in this world, we tend to seek out worldly desires. Filip from Andrew’s University came to the Madison Community Church Youth for the Youth Rally and shared the verse from Hebrews 12:2. We learned that if we don’t focus our vision on Christ, we cannot find our faith because he is the perfecter and author of our faith.

Jesus said we should not doubt in him. In Matthew 14, in the mist of the night Jesus comes to the disciples to calm the storm. Peter was frightened and doubted Jesus when he saw the strong wind and waves. But Jesus says, “Don’t be afraid, take courage. I am here.” Jesus also emphasizes that if we trust in him, and when we cry out to him he will never forsake us. This is Jesus’ message for our youth – he wants us to take courage and not doubt in him. He wants to go to the world and tell about his wonderful message.

Our vision is to Turn Our Eyes unto Jesus. In order to do so we need your help spiritually and financially. We know that in these hard economic times, it is hard to give. However we are asking for your small donations. We want you to help us succeed in our vision, along with our net goal of $2,000 dollars.

Sincerely,

Madison Hmong Community
